Project: Greca
Location: 452 Washington street, Tribeca, NY
Interior Design Style: Industrial / Rustic / Bohemian
Concept: Café / Lounge
We decided to design Greca in such a way that we would be able to incorporate existing structural conditions into the interior design, without undergoing extensive construction work.
Exposed pipes, concrete foundation columns and floors were the structural elements we had to work with, and the perfect canvas to create an industrial space with a mix of rustic elements.
To accommodate the client’s budget and invest resources in other components of the project we decided to work with - and around - those existing elements and incorporate them into the look.
The concept was to create a bohemian, fresh, Mediterranean oasis in a space that functioned as a café / bakery during the day and an exotic, upbeat lounge, in the evening.
We incorporated washed salvaged oak to bring in natural textures, warmth and coziness to balance out the sleek looking concrete.
Custom-designed lights – manufactured in Greece – were incorporated to add a soft earthy touch to the look.
The drapery – in soft, ivory linen – was also imported from Greece, giving the modern glass storefront a soft, elegant look.
